Provision Mapping using SIMS / useful Weblinks for SENCOs / SENplus website for extensive resources for SEND Training.



Delivering ‘Provision Mapping’ to schools wanting to use their SIMS more effectively to record their additional SEND and Pupil Premium delivery.

Establishing SENplus as a place for bespoke, IT-based resources to enable mainstream schools to effectively support their vulnerable, disabled, special needs and disadvantaged pupils.

Working part-time as an Achievement Coach for Achievement for All, an independent charity that is transforming the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged pupils.

Delivering CPD on a variety of SEND specific subjects: NEW Code of Practice, SEND for TAs, Data for SENCOs etc

Consultancy for schools placed in an OfSTED category

2007-2013–  Senior SEND/Inclusion Adviser in Staffordshire, then Wolverhampton, with specialist experience in the following areas: data management, team leadership, school support, Dyslexia, Provision Mapping.

1995-2007- Deputy and Headteacher in a special school (4-16, part residential) for young people with emotional and behavioural difficulties in the West Midlands.

Before that I worked in Primary, Middle, Comprehensive and Special Schools in various roles: class teacher, physics and general science teacher, Head of Maths and Head of English and SENCO.

Other Interests

Walking up and down Mountains (Scotland preferably); Canoeing in open canoes; playing music of a retro-vinyl kind; Reading (anything); generally getting out there whenever possible.



Since 2018 I have been travelling in Hamish and now simply maintain this website to host my training materials, which are free to use.
